When we outsource our comfort to a plastic box in the hallway, we trade our humanity for a data point.

In a clinical study regarding thermal perception, researchers found that the human body can detect a temperature fluctuation on the skin as minute as 0.015 degrees Celsius. This level of sensitivity is almost absurd (it is roughly the thermal equivalent of feeling a single grain of sand drop onto your shoulder) and yet, we spend the majority of our lives pretending we are numb to the air around us.
